Scores of #EndSARS demonstrators have joined Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his deputy Kayode Alabi to stage a walk to the headquarters of the Police Command in Ilorin, the state capital.
Before the Governor and his deputy joined them, the protesters had converged on the government building.
He urged them to remain calm and peaceful until their grievances are answered promptly.
Acknowledging the grievances of the protesters, Abdul-Razaq said he had recently held a zoom meeting with a few governors and some businessmen with some people involved in the protest movement.
At the end of the meeting, he added, the five-point demands of the protesters were forwarded to President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the president was already acting on the five-point demands of the protesters, whose actions the governor said remained peaceful and largely organized, especially in Kwara.
He addressed the protesters briefly and, upon their request, led them to the police headquarters.
AbdulRazaq, speaking to the protesters at the police headquarters, said the young people spoke loud and clear, and that their interests would be secured by the government.
He said that for aggrieved persons and security agencies, the ombudsman will be the go-between.
