Two people were reportedly killed when hoodlums engaged in a supremacy battle in the Ogolonto and Magidun areas of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The violence that began on Saturday afternoon, according to the report, has halted activities in the city, with many people injured, others robbed and several vehicles vandalized.
Eyewitnesses said it was inaccessible to enter and exit from Ikorodu while stranded passengers took to their heel to escape attack.
At Obasekumade Junction, hoodlums wielding cutlasses, knives and broken bottles, smashed cars, robbed passers-by and blocked the Ikorodu Expressway.
The unconfirmed report stated that at least two lives had already been claimed by the mayhem and properties worth a million were lost.
It was found that the hoodlums took advantage of the clash to steal their valuables from unsuspecting members of the public.
Another account revealed that the fracas was the result of the proceeds of the land sold in Majidun and Ogolonto being shared formally.
Initially, people thought the #EndSARS protesters caused traffic problems in the city, but drivers and pedestrians ran helter-skelter and it became clear that it was beyond the protest.
Hoodlums have been stealing their phones and other valuables from residents.
Some commercial drivers loading Ikorodu Garage vehicles dropped their passengers at the Agric bus stop and turned around so that their vehicles would not be destroyed.”
