Fire Guts Jetty In Port Harcourt Kills Pregnant Woman, Infant, and Others

An early morning fire at the Bonny-Bille-Nembe Jetty in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, claimed the lives of a pregnant mother, a two-month-old baby, and two other people.

The fire was reported to have begun at 2 a.m. on Monday morning.

According to PUNCH, over 40 boats were also burnt in the fire said to be caused by persons who attempted to load illegally refined products popularly known as kpofire in the local parlance.

The victims of the fire outbreak, which also include a male adult was reportedly burnt beyond recognition.
