According to the administration of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Owolabi Abidemi, who was reported missing by friends and family members a few days ago, is not a student there.

According to reports, the university declared in a statement signed by the school’s Registrar, Busari Salawu, that Owolabi, whose matriculation number is 19/DACN/4226, was on Industrial Training and that her parents should be responsible for her care, safety, and protection.

It was also claimed that no formal complaint of a missing student had been received by the polytechnic from any individual or security agency in the state.

“Our attention has been called to an internet publication about a missing student of our Institution, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree,” the message reads.

“We would like to point you that the news “Undergraduate Osun Poly Student Declares (sic) Missing” was not thoroughly examined.

“We hereby announce unequivocally that the purportedly missing person, Owolabi Abidemi, was an ex-student of the institution,” the statement reads. According to her matriculation number, 19/DACN/4226, the lady should be on her Industrial Attachment by now under her parents’ covers, having graduated during the Institution’s 2020/2021 Academic Session.

“Moreover, the Institution had received no formal notification of any missing pupil of the School from any parent or guardian, or from state security officers.”
