For Easter Celebrations in Osun, the FRSC would deploy 280 personnel.

The Osun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) announced that 280 troops will be deployed for special operations during and after the Easter celebrations.

Mr Paul Okpe, the Sector Commander, stated this in an interview with the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) in Osogbo on Wednesday.

According to Okpe, 280 police, including Special Marshals and Regular Marshals, will be stationed in the state’s accident-prone corridors.

“We’ll send our men to corridors identified as black spots on the highway to assist reduce any carnage.”

“During the festival, we will be using our operating cars, heavy duty tow truck, ambulances, and other safety equipment to assure everyone’s safety,” he stated.

Okpe said the command had organized sensitization rallies in motor parks and other parts of the state, as well as paid visits to religious and traditional authorities to urge them to educate their people.

He stated that police from the command have been mobilized and will be deployed to monitor traffic on state roadways.

During the holiday season, the sector commander asked motorists to be cautious and follow traffic laws.

As a result, he cautioned that any driver caught breaking traffic regulations during the special police operations will face the full force of the law.
