In Ogun, a suspected armed robber was apprehended with a gun.

Waheed Ijiyemi, an armed robbery suspect, was apprehended with a tiny bag carrying a cut-to-size local pistol and ten live cartridges in Ogun State.

According to the police, Ijiyemi was apprehended on Tuesday “while on his way to carry out a robbery operation.”

The culprit was apprehended as the DPO of Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Job, was on routine patrol with his men, according to Ogun police spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi.

The suspect was spotted by the DPO on an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle, which he allegedly abandoned and fled when he saw the police squad.

“As soon as the suspect saw the cops, he jumped off his motorcycle and ran off running.” “He was pursued and apprehended,” Oyeyemi said.

According to him, the suspect admitted to being “an armed robber on his way to carry out an operation before he was captured” during interrogation.

Meanwhile, Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police, has ordered the suspect to be moved to the state CID for further investigation.
