The lack of women at an APC South-West Elders/Leaders meeting has prompted Hon. (Dr) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), a member of the ruling party, to react.
On Friday, top South-West leaders and APC presidential candidates met at the Lagos House. Major presidential and governorship aspirants in the region, as well as other candidates for National Assembly seats, attended the conference.
Other attendees at the meeting included Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Governor of Lagos State Bola Tinubu, and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, all of whom are APC presidential candidates.
Apart from the aspirants, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, former Governor of Lagos State and Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, Industry, Trade and Investment Minister, Chief Niyi Adebayo, Governors Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and Gboyega Oyetola
Former Osun State Governor and Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola, as well as APC National Secretary Otunba Iyiola Omisore, are among the others.
Dabiri-Erewa was concerned since no lady could be seen among them.
“Hmnnn!” she wrote in a tweet on Saturday. Elders/leaders of the APC South-West meet. NOT A SINGLE FEMALE! Dia is God [There is God] from the entire South-West.”
