Sen. Arthur Nzeribe’s death is a major setback for Nigeria — Orji Kalu

Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senate Chief Whip, has characterized the death of Sen. Arthur Nzeribe, an elder statesman and philanthropist, as a major loss to Nigeria.

In a condolence letter sent on Sunday in Abuja, Kalu expressed his condolences to the elder statesman’s family, friends, and acquaintances.
He praised Nzeribe’s patriotic contributions to nation-building across a variety of forums, saying the late lawmaker was bold, daring, and selfless in fighting for the people’s cause.
The dead was also described by the previous Governor of Abia as an accomplished business man, consummate politician, and well-known philanthropist.

Nzeribe, according to Kalu, made a space for himself in a variety of endeavors.
“I commiserate with the government and people of Imo State at the death of Senator Arthur Nzeribe, a second republic politician,” he added.
I also express my heartfelt sympathies to the Nzeribe family on their tragic loss.
“His contributions to the social, economic, and political development are immense, outstanding, and respectable,” said the deceased, who stood out among his contemporaries in business, politics, and philanthropy.
Through his economic empire, political dynasty, and Arthur Nzeribe Foundation, the late Senator helped many people in society.
He led a meaningful life dedicated to helping others.

“I implore the Nzeribe family to carry on their late patriarch’s excellent works.”
For the late Senator, Kalu prayed for eternal rest.

Nzeribe, who represented the Orlu Senatorial Zone during the second republic, died on Sunday at the age of 83.
