Vice President Yemi Osinbajo Storms Out Of Eagles Square At APC Convention

Vice President and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yemi Osinbajo, rushed out of the Eagles Square, the venue of the party primary, as it became clear that his goal of succeeding his boss as Nigeria’s next president may have failed.

With former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu among the 23 candidates for the APC’s presidential ticket in 2023, Osinbajo, who left the convention early Wednesday morning, was considered as the only front-runner.
The events in Eagles Square revealed that he may not have a chance against the guy who first propelled him to prominence by appointing him as the Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Lagos State.

Following the APC’s victory in 2015, Tinubu nominated him as Vice President to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Things grew much difficult for Osinbajo when two former governors, a sitting governor, a former Speaker, and the youngest of the 23 hopefuls endorsed him.
According to PM News, it is unclear whether the Vice President left Eagles Square early in anticipation of losing the primary election or simply to refresh himself with the potential of returning before the start of ballot sorting and release of the primary election results.
